SMC would like to invite you with family and friends to our Monthly Concert to be held on Saturday 30th August 2025 at the Ermington Community Centre, 10 River road, Ermington.

Artiste Profiles:

Chi. Abhinav Harishankar


Abhinav Harishankar is a year 11 student of Girraween High School. He began his Carnatic vocal music lessons with Sydney based Mridangam and Vocal Guru Sri Raman Easwaran and currently is under the guidance of Sri Chitravina P Ganesh and Sri K S Vishnudev. Abhinav is also a Carnatic violin student and performer having learnt initially from Sydney based  Vid. Sri Kranthikiran Mudigonda and now continuing his advanced violin lessons under Guru Sri Pappu Gyandev. Abhinav has given several vocal and violin performances in Sydney for Yuva Sangeetha Margam, Ragapriya Sydney, other

Abhinav is a finalist for Gayathri Fine Arts Thithhikkum TamizhIsai competition 2022 and finalist for Guruguhaamrta Muthuswamy Dikshitar Kruthis competition for three years in a row.
Abhinav also learns Mridangam with Sydney based Vid Sri Raman Easwaran.

Sri. Harish Gopikan Ravindran


Harish initiated the art of mridangam at young age under the tutelage of Dr. Suresh Ramachandra in Auckland. He has been fortunate to pursue extensive training and has become a proud disciple of Vidwan Sri. Thanjavur K. Murugaboopathi of Chennai. He had his Mridangam Arangetram in Sydney in 2017, alongside his sister Vishni on Veena, and was accompanied by eminent vidwans from Chennai. Harish is a regular performer in Sydney for carnatic concerts and bharathanatyam repertoires and has notably accompanied concerts overseas at prestigious sabhas and venues in Chennai, London, San Francisco and Auckland. Harish is also blessed to have accompanied many visiting artistes from Chennai. 

Sri. Sivakumar Sethupathi


Siva had his training in mridangam under Guru Sri T.S. Janakiraman, a disciple of Sri Palani Subramania Pillai. He was a recipient of music scholarship awarded by the Centre For Cultural Resources and Training, Government of India. He is a sought-after mridangam artiste for Carnatic music programs, Bharatanatyam recitals and Sampradaya Bhajans in Australia. He has accompanied several leading artistes from India. Siva is a founding member of Sydney Bhajan Mandali. 

Sri. Nikhil Bharadwaj


I'm Nikhil Bharadwaj, a Carnatic percussionist and disciple of Sri Chintalapalli Somashekar. My musical journey began at the age of 8, and I made my concert debut at just 11 years old.

Throughout my career, I've been honored with several awards and opportunities, including:

- Receiving the prestigious Karnataka Yuva Sangeeta Puraskar from the Government of Karnataka
- Performing at the revered Tyagaraja Aradhana in Tiruvayyaru

I've also had the privilege of sharing the stage with various esteemed musicians, collaborating on numerous concerts and exploring the rich rhythmic traditions of Carnatic music.
